Double Bear Burger

Day 3 - 11 Miles - 4/17/10
Really tough straight up hill all day. Became real friendly with quite a few hikers. "BIGFOOT" and his group are real nice folks. Amoeba, a neat lady who I helped up from a rock that she couldn't get up from. Taking lots of breaks today broke mid-day beside long canyon creek with big trees an shade. There we met Mother Melissa who we chatted with for quite a while before kicking butt on the trail. After climbing yet another 500-700 feet we go to the highest we've been so far 6000 ft. Where the desert life was exchanged with Jeffery and Pinyon pine forest. The cool forest reminded us more of home than so cal which defiantly helped us pick up the pace. That day we got to Mount Laguna it was 2:30 we got to the store to get a bite to eat. After a soda and some pringles we were ready for more but couldn't decide between a crappy looking sandwich or beanie weenies. But then some great luck a thru hiker we've seen a few times mentioned a restaurant with good food just down the road. Double bear burger an chili cheese fries in a real neat cabin setting with really nice folks that run it. Then we ran into some southbound hikers who let us in on some info on the trail ahead. Now were full and tired and ready for bed.... till tomorrow GOODNIGHT!
