Awesome day, on the trail by 7:30 beautiful trail, pine and oak forest with a full carpet of miners lettuce. Shaded and cool this is definitely one of my favorite sections so far. Took lots of pics as well as breaks witch made for a nicer day. Kept the spot up much better today (Dad). Ended up passing right on by bear camp before finding some shade for a break, Loren passed by and then met Blaze going southbound who told of water in tylerhorse canyon and of a place called hikertown. I'm 12 miles in at 2:30 what's another 12 to make it into hikertown this evening. Pondering that as I move steadily down from the nice cool forest back into the desert. I find Loren under an oak tree there one afforded an amazing open expansive view down to the mojave desert below and even hikertown. While enjoying the view and taking some pics Damian would show up as Loren moved on, talked with Damian about all the food we'd eat at hikertown wich was all the motivation I needed to get on the move. 3 or 4 more miles down the trail and I'm running low on water, thinking about the dry 6-8 miles still to hikertown, oh great. But just as I rounded a corner I happen upon a delightful small cool clear stream. Tanked up and filtered 3 litres, now I no I can make it. Cross a road to get back to the trail when I notice a sign (Private Property Hunting Area Stay On The Trail), hoping I'm not the game of choice I push on through a trail built to appease property owners not hikers. Up and down and around, you could see and hear the highway but just when you'd thought you had made it, there it would go taking you away from it by going up and around more hills. The highlight of the hiker hunting grounds was on the highway where the oncoming trucks would air horn on command for me hadn't done that for a long time and I'm not sure why I found it so amusing but I did. Made it to hikertown at 7:30 met Bob awesome guy he showed me around, what a truley neat place this is. Enjoyed a beer and conversation with loren before calling it a night. Ahhh hikertown.
